the artist's box chapter 5- shades of memory 'Fraid you're stuck with the Jena-thing updating again, though we now have hope that Betsy-sama's computer might not be the permanent kind of dead. *crosses fingers and sends good functioning-technology vibes a few blocks south and eastward* If you follow the The LJ Community at all, you've already seen these, but I thought I'd share 'em here as well. See, I'm working as cartoonist (and photographer, but that job's not particularly relevant right now) for my university's weekly paper, and a couple of the issues thus far I've simply redrawn punchlines from early in the archive. I would feel more guilty about this fact, but I think I can count the number of my schoolmates that read this comic on my fingers (might possibly need me toes if I'm having a confident day) *waves at them, 'cuz they know exactly who they are* And I figure if you know me and like me well enough to give in to my pouting and read UC, you're probably the forgiving sort and won't mind the occasional recycled gag But ANYway, the whole point of THAT ramble is 'cuz I thought I'd share them, finding them all sorts of entertaining myself. I've done them in a slightly different style: less with the thick fancy inkings and no color, but text done by hand and all sorts of crosshatching to make up for the lack of color. And since both of the comics I've thus far done are... rather old, I think it's quite reassuring to see that I've made some sort of progress (at least I think I have). So anyway, here they are: Comic 1 and
Comic 2. Ummm enjoy?
And just to be redundant, I'm-a once again urge you to click on that middle vote button below
this here box, and to go see Serenity because it's just about the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. (And I like pretty
things, so I like to think I've got a remotely distinguishing palate *grin*)
